Since before the start of this season, there have been many “signs” and hints thrown our way concerning this season and our team. Broken motors, broken cars, broken drivers, broken haulers, and lost sponsorships being a few of them, and we ignored every one of them to continue our quest. Some on the team have even suggested that these “signs” may have been coming from Rich in the great beyond, trying to tell us something of importance, but like before, we ignored them.
We have finally received one more sign that we can’t ignore, and for that reason, while we are planning to be racing with you at Holland this Saturday night, it will unfortunately be our last as a team. Dave will be driving the No. 2 car, a touch of nostalgia for old times sake, but after the race is finished, the team Unforgiven Motorsports/Whittaker Absolom Racing will be suspending operations indefinitely and the No. 2 car will be going up for sale. The fate of the other two cars is yet to be determined.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has, over the years, lent a hand to help us out with fixing the cars when we needed the help, given us a word or two of encouragement when we really needed it, helped us out when things were bleak, and celebrated with us when things went well. And we would be remiss if we didn’t extend a big thank you for those that consider themselves our fans.
We would like to invite ya’ll to our campsite after the race to share in one last toast for old times sake, as we go out with no ill feelings towards anyone, only the deepest regrets we have to leave.
A huge thank you to the whole CupLite family for making this experience the great ride it has been and wish those remaining only success and good luck.
Our Best to All,
David, Glenn, Darin, Diane, Sue, Kathy and Sarah.
